About the event

We are delighted to be partnering with Aimee Davies, founder of The Hey Mate Project, to offer this special workshop designed to cultivate resilience, develop healthy habits and learn practical tools to navigate the uncertainties of a creative career (and life).

The ability to overcome stressful situations is an invaluable skill to have in the creative industries. By adopting a more resilient, or mentally tough mindset, we increase our capacity to cope with challenges and increase productivity. Many of us have experienced ups and downs in the exciting, sometimes daunting screen industry we love. Community support and healthy habits are critical to our long-term success and wellbeing. In this interactive workshop you can expect to learn about:

  • Building Resilience and psychological endurance
  • skills to respond more adaptively to external pressures, such as increased workloads, difficult relationships and change
  • coping mechanisms to handle stress

You will walk away with more awareness and tools to help:

  • improve communication
  • increase confidence
  • increase capacity / productivity
  • enhance satisfaction
  • reduce burnout
  • And more!

Aimee Davies started her career in sound engineering before embarking on a colourful and varied career throughout creative industries including the opening of a creative studio. During this period Aimee found the therapeutic benefits of the creative industries and the niche issues professionals within the creative industries experience. Aimee found that there was a lack of creative industry experienced medical practitioners to offer preventative and proactive solutions to the challenges her peers were experiencing. After almost half a decade of working in the health sector including community services, integrated therapy services, working with young people who have experienced complex trauma, and graduating as a registered Counsellor. Aimee combined her Therapeutic skills and creative industry experience to create The Hey Mate Project and offer the niche support for the creative industries she has noticed the lack of years prior. This has followed to create our ethos to provide industry and vocation specific creative thinking support that is accessible, proactive, preventative, educational, and industry informed. We believe looking after your wellbeing shouldn't be a luxury and we are delighted to make this workshop FREE.
