Join us for a Masterclass with Jo O'Shaughnessy, a seasoned director with over 500 hours of TV under her belt, including shows like Neighbours, Home and Away, My Life is Murder, Rock Island Mysteries and Darby and Joan. Jo will share her real-world experiences and insights that will inspire any aspiring or early-career director to take the leap into the world of television.

From building connections and making the most of directors' attachments to ensuring you’re always in demand, she’ll share practical advice and lessons she’s learned along the way. Jovita O’Shaughnessy’s bio:


Jovita O’Shaughnessy is a Brisbane based Director with over 30 years experience in the TV industry. She is an Australian Directors Guild award winner for Best Direction in a TV Drama Serial (2010). Jo is a stalwart of prime time network television and streaming platforms. 


She has worked with Fremantle Media for many years working across various titles including Wonderland Series 1, 2 and 3, and more recently in 2021/2022, Rock Island Mysteries Series 1& 2. Jo had the pleasure of Directing My Life is Murder in 2019 with Lucy Lawless for CJZ. In 2021 she was invited by CJZ/Acorn to direct the penultimate episodes of Darby and Joan Series 1 with Bryan Brown and Greta Scacchi. Jo recently completed shooting Darby and Joan Series 2 as the Set-up Director in 2024.
